Privacy Policy

What is a Privacy Statement?

A Privacy Statement explains what information we hold about you, why we hold it, how we protect it for you, and how you can have your information removed from our files if you so wish.

A new law – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — came into effect in May 2018 and affects the way we keep information about choir members. We’ve created this document to help you understand how we handle your data.

What information do we hold about you and why?

The information we hold about you could include information you give us when you fill in forms, subscribe to our service or respond to email newsletters.

This information is important to us, because it enables us to send you news of BCGC.

We may do this by post. We may also contact you by email, text and social media, where you have given permission.

We also draw on the information given to us by members to help us keep our records up-to-date.

However, when we do this, your privacy will be protected.

For example, any data sent to social media is in an unidentifiable form.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes for which it was collected. This will vary depending on the type of information.

What are our responsibilities and your rights?

We always take exceptional care with the information we hold about our members.

Where we contact you by post, email, SMS or other electronic means, we do this with your consent.

If you do not wish to stay in touch, please contact BCGC administration on 07527 706094 or at admin@bathcommunitygospelchoir.com

You also have the right to see copies of information held about you. For details on how to do this, or if you are unhappy with the way we are managing your personal information, please contact our administrator at admin@bathcommunitygospelchoir.com
